You’ll have seen this joke already: my email signature says “Developer”. What it doesn’t say is “will fix your printer”. In the interests of managing expectations, here’s a gentle clarification.
Hardware, networks, and other physical objects
No. I build websites, not machines.
Also no. Try turning the router off and on again – that one genuinely works more often than it should.

If it doesn’t run WordPress, it’s not really my department.
Skills that live in someone else's toolbox
If it needs to live in an app store, that’s a different trade to mine.
I build what a designer designs. I’m not that designer.
I can build the page. Filling it with the right words is a different skill, and one best left to people who actually have it.
Your nephew is technically correct, and also not helping me here.
A note on printers
Printers are not a technology problem. They are a curse, handed down through generations of office IT departments, activated at the exact moment you need to print something urgently. No developer, however experienced, has ever fixed one permanently. If yours is broken, I’d recommend acceptance, a hard reset, or open hostility – roughly in that order.
